I asked this some time ago and got varying answers.

Some said ( in 17" size ) 7.5J on the front and 215/40s would fit. Some said the arches would need rolling as 215s might rub on extreme lock/body roll.
This tyre size seemed to be OK on the back without mods according to most with some people saying 8j with a 235/40 on the back was fine on theirs

I think an offset of ET35 or ET37 is about optimum from the replies I got.

I guess it all depends on your suspension, tyre make ( tyre shoulder shape varies ) and the individual car ( tolerances? )

It all depends on whether you don't mind rolling the arches, re-shaping/removing the inner arch liners.

I wanted mine so that I didn't have to mod anything ( arches/liners ), wouldn't rub with the family and luggage in with the standard Mac Strut set up.......depending on what you are prepared to compromise about will determine your best choice
