Default how good are Sierra's

I am selling my mondeo to a mate,
And i have found a Very clean Sapphy in Red,

but for now, looking for something to replace the mondeo for running to the shops in, the sapphire has all the optional extras, FSH, etc, NO RUST and low milage,
and i assume they have good scope to modify, scorpio engine is a popular conversion.

i know the car is older, but how will it compare to my mk2 mondeo?

P.S its only for smokin to the shops in and collecting car bits etc

What engine is in it?the 1.8's usually eat piston rings then burn oil,if you are hard on them the type 9 gearboxes can be a bit soft,2.9 cosworth will go straight in with an xr4x4 bellhousing, the wiring is a pain though but the scorpio is pretty much the same so all the rad pipes and exhaust manifolds are useable.if its standard it will be a nice enough car to run around in.

You'll wonder why they stopped making them.

The mondeo isn't much imho. Sierras seem to respond to a little homebrew engineering like no other chassis I've seen. A couple tweaks and it's a magical combo for handling and power.

Depends what you want out of a car, sierra is a pile of crap compared to mondeo as a everday car, mondy better in everyway, though as heavier might not be as quick as sierra.
If I wanted a nice cruiser for long distance it would be the mondy no doubt, but sierra's have thier place, good cars prefer the pinto of all the engines myself, but tuning parts cheap.
