cant say about your area but up here thats pretty reasonable for your age/experience
especialy if you've got use of the workshop for homers(most places dont allow that)
i wouldn't be complaining about that to much,
and whats with the hour for lunch, you dont get none of that up here

its a crap trade i'm afraid
i wish i had done something else 13 years ago when i started out
but with a family to support now its to late for me to retrain
the way jobs are at the moment if you got 1 then stick with it
but if your young and get the chance i'd say get out the motor trade while you can
it'll never pay as much as your mates get in other trades and will only sicken you more
i'm 29, 13 years experience, tester for class 1,2,3,4&7, work 6 days and only clear 330
my mate works on building site as a labourer, no experience or qualifications,
does monday to friday(half day friday at that) and takes home 350
why anybody picks this trade is beyond me, we all need our heads looked at
p.s can you tell i'm not happy in my job any more?

well i'm qualified at foundation degree with 15 years (none workshop) experience and can't get work so at least your in a job so i wouldn't be complaining the way things are you got job where as others haven't so if you don't want it sign on and give someone else the job that does want it otherwise stop complaining and get on with it
sorry for being blunt but why complain or even compare when some main dealerships are finishing long serving workers or having to cut salaries due to the climate etc
but thats just imo
