just got a letter from DVLA
Ive just recived a letter stating that i need to return my licence as ive been convicted of a driving offence on the 17/12/08 but ive never ever received a penalty notice of any kind. there are no details of the offence so i have no idea when, where or what the charge is.
it must of been in my car as if it was a works vehicle the company would have had a letter and inform me.
the court is north west essex court and i cant remember going to essex other than in the summer with ben when we went southend.
im just wondering if it was on the way to any of the shows during the summer and since i never recieved a charge notice they think i havent replied?
either way its got me in a flap as i just dont know what it can be and cant find out until monday. it may well of been some thing that Danielle ( my other half ) has done but since im the registered keeper ive been charged.
to say im shitting a brick is an understatement as any of you who no me will no im not shy with the loud pedal so this can be anything from 3points to a total ban. only time will tell now.
i will report back on monday. :cry

i hope it was her as i drive for a living and cant really afford the points,
the only thing i can think of is when i went to get some parts from kieron/kickass as that was around october time but even so if it was that i still never got a pcn

thats true, but if a notice was sent and it went missing for what ever reason and wasnt recieved by me then they havent had a reply to the notice so then they would prosecute the registered keeper and thats me.

You would have had quite a few letters from the start of the incident till now.
Yet only this one from Dvla has found you?
It couldn't have been a serious offence otherwise Plod would have come to collect you for the court appearance.

Oh and remember to photocopy your license and send it recorded delivery as there have a been too many "lost licenses" by DVLA not to mention peoples licenses coming back as provisional or with missing entitelments and a photocopy might be enough to get the entitlements back as the Driving centre only keeps data for 2 years.

i dont see why i should get a court fee as ive never recieved and letters,
i will update this on monday after i have more details. however for now im going to get very drunk to block it all out as its given me a massive head ache

Is the letter legit? Have you matched the phone number on the letter with the same number on the DVLA website? i.e. google search the phone number.

the number is correct. i took a trip to the local plod station this morning and asked them to find out weather or not my licence has been revoked since on the bottom of the letter it stated that im able to continue driving nunless the courts have stopped me.
i explained this was the letter i had recived from them and i knew nothing about it and they said neither do they as its a DVLA letter and nothing to do with them.
they said its best to speak with the DVLA on monday.
