The reason they don't show some faces is because they are either juveniles, or they are being prosecuted, showing faces would prejudice their rights to being given a fai hearing.

So what if they are minors, naming and shaming might discourage them. Its not like they are paedos so no risk of vigilante action. and if someone in street asks them and they were found innocent then im sure they can do one line in the credits.

I'm not for one minute saying it's right, I agree mostly with you, but a jury would see it as prejudicial to his "fairness" at a trial and it would be discontinued/thrown out, so it's better to hide them and they get done rather than walk free.
With minors it is the same as photgraphing them without consent or cause, ie not allowed.
I do believe for serious cases childrens id's should be known, but not minor stuff, I can't claim to have been an angel, and sure I'm not alone, with kids it would give them more street cred amongst the dopey brigade and makes them worse.
