4 linking - Rod end bearing spec?
I'm in the process of 4 linking a shell. What spec of rod end bearings should I use for the link bars and watts linkage?
Would polybushing the axle end of the link bars be more suitable for a road car?
Also wheres the best/cheapest place to source them?

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
i used a 40,572 lbs end for my panhard rod and 8800 lbs ends for the 4 links. the body end of the arms is polybushed and also one end of the panhard rod. tbh, i just buy the highest load bearings available. that way your covered the rod ends i got from rally design

I have my rear axle 4-linked with a panhard rod. Fully rose jointed.
And I have to say, I bloody hate it. I would definately install poly somwhere in the system, to reduce interior noise.
And mine annoys me with the full interior and full complement of sound proofing still fitted !!!

8.8", 31 spline Mark Williams shafts, Ford Racing Torsen diff.
I wouldnt use any other diff....they all seem to break from what I read. I dont trust other Torsen style...as they all look cheap and weak.
And all diffs with a diff pin, break eventually.
Although MW did offer an uprated diff that uses a pin...I still didnt want to risk it.
just my own thoughs on the matter...

I read lots of glowing reports on the Ford Torsen diff but Strange advised a Truetrac for my application - fast road/trackday with maybe an occasional RWYB quarter. The new axle is going to be 10 to 12 weeks before its with me so Im using the Volvo one as an interim measure so I can mock up and fabricate the rear suspension.

TBH...my choice of diff was purely my own. Very few seem to use it...partly due to cost ( although generally speaking, all these diffs are cheap ) and they dont seem to like it for drag racing.
When I kept twisting the Moser shafts...I was about to get some Strange ones. Then all of a sudden they didnt make anything suitable for what I wanted...WTF ???
The MW stuff was expensive, but the quality of it is really superb.
Having used one for some 6 years now....I cant fault it at all.
I tried a spool for a while last year....NEVER again. And it didnt benefit traction for me one bit.

MW gear is top notch tackle but Strange has one big benefit for me. I have a pal who lives 15 miles from them who is ordering/buying the axle to my spec then "selling" it on to me for the bargain price of $125 plus shipping.
As the old saying goes "Pelicans, Tucans and the taxman all have one thing in common............They can all stick their bills up their arse!"

Unfortunately with the half shafts and c-clip elims...I had to bite the bullet and pay full whack.
Although exchange rate was much nicer back then.
I just bought my previous Moser's from Hauser. They werent that expensive anyway.

I bought turrets and half moons from them but want to make my own link boxes/bars/diff tunnel etc to suit the 8.8 Ford axle esp as I am planning on running rear coilovers rather than spring gondolas on the lower link arms.
The black Silouette was the one I was on about from nr Stansted and tyre sure paid circa 800 quid for it and the one owner car cost him 550 buy it now (check his feedback). He has both on ebay at 1495 but the white one is advertised elsewhere at 1295.
Tire sure is hoovering up all the nice non sunroof hatchback shovits but he has some competition now!
If you are going down the HSR tarmac kit route I am getting the kit made in carbon/kevlar but altering the front HSR bib so that A, its removeable and B, incorporates HS style brake ducts as IMO thats the only fault on the HSR kit. Its too flat and boring looking.
If your in the market for one (whether std or modded) gimme a shout as it seems daft to hire the moulds twice.

if i manage to get one i was going to get a jemison kit really, the reason is if you break a corner you should be able to geta replacement, why don't you knock up some tarmac wide kits and then sell them off to recoup your outlay??icouldn't be arsed looking through the fellas feedback, i have noticed him selling chevettes before, all the ones prior to the black one looked shit.
