Judging by how tight your jeans are,

your better off buying a wet suit mate

Keep on toying with the idea myself. Better safe than sorry.

Only thing is they are bloody expensive now and people will expect you to be fast on track

Demon Tweeks have some Sale ones in the £250-£300 band, old stock. As far as i am aware the material does not deteriorate with age either.

Well the Impreza boys get away with dressing the whole family in them when going to the shops, so I think you will get away with it!

Shut it you, boiler suits are that way ->

I must agree though with 35 litres of fuel behind my back Im kinda wanting something that may offer protection over a Nike tracksuit.

I shall have a trip up to CastleCombe to Merlin motorsport i think and try some for size.

If anyone has any opinions on brands or specs please post them up

I used to think it was ghey and was embarrassed to wear one... but then I realised it was just retarded not wearing one as the Sierra was very fast and stripped and had fuel tank inside... and so I did.

I wouldn't wear one if I was doing a day in the 911... but I would if its in the Westy.

As well as being safe... they are bloody comfy as well like a big comfy baby grow!

Mines a Sparco one. Its cool. I like it. I like the Alpine stars ones better but you just look like you are trying to be the Stig in one I reckon.

Stick with Sparco.

I know they arent... but OMP look a bit pikey to me!

Mate, you know my views.

Typically, bummers will sneer and label you a ponce, poser, gimp, show off etc etc etc

But you, like me roll with a fuel cell right behind your head.

Think of Niki Lauder and get your cheque book out.

Try my old one, you can have it for next to nowt. I don't bother too much in the Bonus, but i will be suited 'n booted everytime i turn the key in the FRST.

After years of sweating in a 3 layer Nomex suit I switched to the AWS 2 layer Nomex/Carbon X and its much better to drive in.

Gives me better protection material wise than the 3 layer and a lot more comfortable to wear.

But I wouldn't wear it on trackdays

You may see some Proban treated cotton ones knocking about cheaper at the minute as they have been banned from 2009 in motorsport so places are offloading them.

Proban is fine if looked after but it does wash out over time, and not needing to conform to rules yet you may find these cheaper.

AWS link to the FiA ones

Yikes, Im looking through DemonTweeks and Merlin Motorsport Catologue these things cost as much as designer labels!!!

With the added bonus of saving your skin mind you.!
Not the thing really you can order online need to get a feel for it in a shop I think, few star jumps and the like.

Maria, DONT start me off on the Booties although I have gloves already.

AWS made to measure

If your not Mr Average then its the only way to go as you need to be comfy when strapped in.

As for turning up to a briefing in it RETRO_AL .... well quite honestly you deserve the ribbing. Do the briefing first then get changed

Luca, if you really want to be fashionable why not go the whole hog like we have too when competing abroad

Our fashionable attire includes fire proof underwear, a vest my grandad would be proud of, socks, and a rather fetching balaclava

If the fire don't get you the sweat does

At the end of the day its worth remembering non of these items will save you in a fire, but what they do do is buy you time to get out.

Not applicable to most trackdays but if you do compete at night don't buy black, you wont be seen

Luca have you ever thought about just wearing the underwear underneath your normal clothing? Saves the jokes but know you have alittle added protection underneath.
