I'm sure it's not always the case but whenever I see txt spk I automatically assume the person writing it is stupid.

If anyone sends me a text or email written in this bollocks it gets deleted. It was obviously written by an idiot anyway.

There may have been a case for it a few years ago when mobile phones were more likely to have a character limit, or even sending a message to a pager, but there is absolutely no excuse for it.

back on the subject of the "text type/speak" am I the only one who uses predictive text and therefore never has to type/speak like a complete mongaloid? All my text's are completely stripped of stupid words such as lyk as it's actually quicker to type like in predictive mode

 

and why does grammar in the middle of a sentence require a capital?

 

i can see the point when it's on a phone where time and letter spacings are relevant

but using it on a forum or in a letter or such i just stupid

To be honest that a would give decent sentence construction but still be poor as there isn't a lack of grammar, rather there's poor grammar. Anyway I digress.

I am no where near the cleverest person you are ever likely to meet and I cant type for shit.I would like to think as I am slowly improving now thanks to the sticklers on PF.I didn't see why everybody moaned about txt talk at first (not as I did it) but some of the dribble people post is terrible especially the Ebay adds !! Utter piffle !

 

On a phone when your characters are limited it is to be expected, hance "Text type" as in "send me a text"

But on a forum it's more or less pointless and pisses me right off.

I used to be so incredibly intolerant of things that didn't quite fit in with my way of thinking, text talk being one of them.

Over past few months I have chilled out alot and now it no longer phases me how people type...

I very rarely do it when texting, apart from words like tomorrow, which I'd abbreviate to tomoz, simply because they're so fucking long and would end up on a line all on their own.
