I have got a Mk3 Mondeo 2004 and when ever i unlock the car to open the doors the boot unlocks its self and opens you can here the motor running it even opens its self when your driving along unless you lock the doors from the inside but i also noticed that when you push the button on the drivers door before all the doors lock locked now sometimes only the drivers one locks

Anyone got any ideas??

Is it the motor on the boot lock

sounds like it isn't going to full open or close postion and so it going back to the position it was in previously,try cleaning /oiling the lock mechinism also check the acually button to open the boot as there just little micro switches and a bump in the road could be activating it.

I too have a mondeo and the fault is the boot button on my car.

heres what i found out

remove the boot trim and find the wire that goes from the boot switch ( the switch you put your finger on when you open the boot from the outside)

then disconnect the connector (was a two wire connector in black on my car) i tested it with a muitlmeter and is was dead short ( made circuit all the time)

tried the system, key and dash button (which didn't work before) and they both worked

off to ford now to buy the boot switch
