My 24hr old LG plasma has a tiny red dot on it which sometimes flickers. im guessing this is a dead pixel?? is this something that will go after a few hours use or is it faulty and means i need to take back off wall and back to shop???

there's a certain tolerance for dead pixels with manufacturers which means one dead pixel wont make them take it back

Have a read of this...

More info on ISO 13406-2

Depends on the manufacturers warranty really.

its very rare. but unfortunately there is a disclaimer that a small percentage of pixels that are gone will not warrent exchange/refund/repair.

alrite danny mate! when these kind of tellys are made then sold/the manufacturer allows for a certain amount of dead pixels before being classed as faulty!stuff like the lg will probably allow alot more than say a sony/panosonic high end stuff but even the high spec stuff will come with dead pixels when new!
