Default Turbo to Airbox Pipe help!!??

i have just got new samco hoses for my 2wd saph and because it has a t34 on it i got the t34 pipe that i had to pay extra for as its wider. anyway it now doesnt fit the standard airbox cover as its too wide at that end and i dont want to put a cone filter on!

Can u get a metal reducer or something to make the t34 pipe fit onto the standard airbox??? and if so, anyone know where!!??

thanks ang x

You could always try and find a large turbo escort cosworth airbox lid as this will have the right fitting AFAIK

Samco do the reducers but you'll be struggling to get one in with the 90 degree pipe you have being the length it is.....unless you dont mind cutting it?

U nah what it is!!!?? Samco really grind on me. I got all of the pipes in a custom colour and i had to pay extra for the pipe as have a t34 on it, so i have the t3 one aswell as they wouldnt just exchange!! So was custom made anyway so why didnt they just make it to go from a t34 to standard airbox as ive had a look on ebay and u can get them from Roose for that for Ł25.

So if i can't get a metal sleeve type of thing, im gona have to buy a cone filter, a bling cover, n then im gona end up wanting the oil breather system that sits on that side so doesn't look so bare n i already have the other oil breather and i have just got them pipes in black as the blue looked crap n minging off the oil!!

Why is nothing simple with a ford eh....

and pete, its my first so nowts "stretched" yet!! haha cheeky fooker. i think ill try yopur mod as i aint spending more on the car!!!

Arrghhhhh!!!! lol

If you wish to reduce your engines power then restict the pipe then lol
personally I would advise you fit the appropriate correct size intake system

If it is custom hose why dont you send it back and tell them it doesnt fit.

Did you say you wanted it from a t34 to standard airbox when ordered through woodford?

You are absolutely cok on go to the top of the class, it wasn't rocket science though was it lol
I wonder why ford made a bigger pipe and air box lid for the cars they made with bigger turbo's ? who's going to answer that one

so really i should get ecost cosworth one or cone filter, ohh well, more money eh!!

yeah i told woodford that it was for t34 n they never asked if it was for standard airbox or cone filter! i didnt think past that tbh.

so is cone filter a better idea than standard escort cosworth?? and if i then get the oil breather system that looks like a header tank, is it the same pipes as i have just re-ordered in black for the baileys breather system as dont want to re-buy them as just have!

ohh man!!

well there is a technical reason too
the smaller the id the greater the restriction the further away from the turbo this restriction is the greater the affect it has on flow

I put an escort cossie airbox in my sapph, it wasn't too hard to fit. Plus it means you can use the T35 hose you have
