Default Phase sensor

Hi,
Just changed my Phase sensor on my Cosworth Dizzy, I have connected the Red Wire to the + on the Dizzy Connector. Is this correct.?
The old phase was completely knackered and had no shielding on the wires.

thanks,
Manoj

Do the new phase sensor wires last a bit longer than the old sensors.Just out of interest i take it when these wires on old sensors start to crack and if the wires touch i take it that it will cause running problems.

Yes will cause problems, yes the new ones have MUCH better insulation that lasts.
I THINK it only senses the phase position for starting but once running could be disconnected, but if it can't tell phase it will overfuel enormously.

Yes and no !

It depends on what ecu and how the sesnor fails while the engine is running.
Way too many combinations for a sunday with a hangover to explain.

I don't know if I ever did it with my w/m ecu but with my present one, it's totally ok, and continues to run perfect even when disconnected and left like that until you start again.
