FAO central heating experts!
I've got a honeywell smartfit digital combined thermostat/timeswitch fitted in my house. I have just noticed that on the display there was a picture of a spanner and F12 on the display.
Any ideas what this means? I switched it off and back on again and it has gone back to normal, but i wonder if its going to come back again!

Do the batteries need replacing in the clock-stat on the wall?
I never come across this one myself!

If you do a search on google or somewhere you should be able to get a manual download if you know the model rich. Quite a few different ones, don't remember seeing that code off hand! Probably means it's fucked and gonna cost you a load of dollar tho lol

F.12 Communication fault between Room Unit and Base Unit
a) Check Room Unit wiring
b) Switch system off then on again
c) Replace Room Unit (with same OS number)
d) Replace Base Unit

Cheers for that, i did find it eventually! There are no batteries in the unit, its mains powered. I have switched it off and back on and the fault hasn't yet re-appeared. I suppose we'll see if i've got hot water for a shower in the morning
Cheers!
