just wondering does anybody have a rough idea on what sort of power a standard erst box can hold, reason i am askin is undecided on what to do engine wise in my s1 but heard a few bad storys about zvh's chewing box's up all the time?

i think its about 200 bhp, but torque has alot to do with it tbh

Depends how you treat it mate. I know standard boxes taking 250 horses but they don't get the arse ripped from them, yet 180 horsepower cars that kill them every 3 months because of the way the car gets used.

as said, i'd go for 220bhp max, but need stage 1 and onwards would need to be considered. bearing in mind everyones right foot isn't used the same as others. take it easy and you'd be fine.
