Default Fiesta RS Turbo Help.

Alright guys,

Sorry im not a local on here. But recently i have been thinking about getting a Fiesta RST as a daily drive basically. A friend of mine bought one but doesnt use it. Its been very lightly modified consisting of a magnex or maybe mongoose full exhaust system, air filter and a bailey dump valve, other than that it is standard with mint bodywork, no rust from anywhere that i have seen.

firstly, what sort of price would you put on it? currently at 94,000 miles, I no my description is pretty vague, but a rough figure will do..

Secondly, what things are likely to go wrong? im not going to be driving it hard all the time (building a track car for that) but iv herd they aren't too good as daily drivers? or will it be fine if looked after?

many thanks.

I used to have a Fiesta turbo with roughy the same spec and used that every day for a few months and the only thing that gave grief was the fan relay burning out in the fuse box. Just made my own seperate loom and it was sweet!

Never had any problems with it at all realy and it didnt have an easy life!

I wish i'd never sold it tbh.

I had one as a daily driver, lightly modded and was fine other than as above an issue with the fuse box and a relay.

Was fine tbh, no powersteering iirc but you get used to that. Prices vary dependnet on condition, history paperwork etc, check out the rsoc website and pistonheads to get a better idea on value.

Often these cars are better used everyday as when they are stored up, damp sets in and corrodes parts, and with lack of use parts seize up.

We ran our old FRST as a daily for a while. If it's genuinely clean and grot free £3k upwards.

I use mine as a daily driver for about 2 years, I had a few things go on it, the fan relay, alternator etc... on the whole it wasn't a bad car but remember it's a RS

Dont think id have it back as a daily driver now as it didn't have power steering and I've got used to luxuries as I've got older

Ever since I was young I'd always wanted a cossie but obviously had to work up the ladder.

I had my fiesta and at the time a lot of my mates were buying cossies. After going out in them decided it was time to get one so sold the fiesta and bought my cossie.

The thing with my fiesta was that while it was nippy I really wanted cossie performance but as the fez was pretty much mint (in my eyes anyway) and original, to get the same level of performance would mean doing quite a lot to it to get there. I thought it would be a shame to ruin it.

For me the fiesta was the cleanest and tidyest car ive ever owned and ive got good memories with it and for the money i paid for it, I wont get another like it imo.

Its also the car ive spent the least amount of money on!!

I had a escort RS turbo tuned to about 180bhp as my daily driver and it was fine. If you can cope with no power steering and it being a old car they are ok. Just check for rust as I had to do no end of welding on mune. Also do your usual checks to make sure nowts knackered on it like turbo etc but if it seems clean chances are it will be fine

i run my FRST daily, and, touch wood, been a dream so far, with the odd niggle, but thats just car ownership for you..... no reason why you can't run them everyday, and like has already been mentioned, is prob better for them everyday......

get some pics up of the proposed example!!!
