Default mobile mechanic/someone who knows there stuff about s2

i really need somone to come and fix my car for me as im so stuck with it and confused why it wont run iv replced everything i can to make it work..it should just fire up .it fires then just stops straight away no matter how much gas u give ....is anyone near bournemouth wants to earn so money reply please

lol i think so iv brought new leads plugs dizzy cap...dizzy was new anyway...oil/filter it has plenty of gas .....fuel pumps priming.....gas is geting to the pots...battery is fine...amal valve removed .....brand spankin boost pipes...new metering head

tbh i think it is somthing to do with an air leak or somthing is wrong like the brether system i just dont know anymore

Can you get it to start at all - i.e if you crank it over at full throttle/operate the metering flap manually?

if u crank it at full throttle after a while the engine will stop sudenly .....it does fire and sound like it wants to run but i cant get it to keep going...doing my nut in.....befor the changed the bottomend it ran fine but with a nock so i changed it and now it dosnt work atall

forgot to mention the only time iv had it running it sounded like a lawnmower is the only way to discribe it......there nothing that can change the fireing sequence is there? 1342 or 180 iv tryed and wont work

have you got the plug leads on the dizzy cap the right way round in respect to direction of rotation?

bottomend that it....plus metering head ...but it didnt change anything still the same prob

the bottomend is system2 and i know its fine .it came out of a m8s car

Have you double checked your cam timing? Is the rotor arm pointing to Number 1 HT lead contact when the cam/bottom end is timed up to TDC on cylinder 1?

i had a loada hassle with the metering head when i changed it, is ur mates car running more/less bhp then your car? if there is a big difference the metering unit will need adjusting (well thats what i had to do) hope this helps

Have you checked the solid plastic pipe that goes from the breather filter on the back left of the rocker cover to the base of the metering head. Any airleaks or cracks in this can be detrimental to the car running or starting at all.

have you checked the pink fuel pump re lay under the dash, they burn out and can cause intermitent failures

i did check the piece i could see yesterday and it had been rubbing so i taped it up for a tempory fix intill i get a new one ...i think ill remove the whole pipe first thing in the morning

what i have done before when i have suspected a air leak get sombody to crank the car over and watch if the metering flap moves down which it should if its not push it open but only a little bit and it should fire

i seem to live miles away from everyone ....ok im off now iv been sat here all day lookin for someone to come and fix it who knows what there doing and dosnt live halfway across the contry all iv maneged to find is a stinking headache..i really dont want to take it to a garage who know fuck all about rs's and fuck it up even more that she all ready is...thanks for everyones in put today much appreciated it will run by the end of january
