Default info rqd about escos intercooler

the std escos intercooler has a air/water section at the front which is cooled by engine coolant and pace offer a mod to run a separate cold water system through this instead of engine coolant. does the pace mod make this system much better or is it a marginal improvement in intercooling effciency?

I've got one of these kits to go on mine, picked it up for £100 inc the Intercooler. It must be an improvement over the standard setup as you do away with the engine coolant to cool it.

Its just not as cost effective as swaping to a 500 cooler when u consider you can get a good 500 cooler for £300 & the Pace kits go for £250 upwards new from what I've seen.
