think i may need one soon as when i get over zelous with the cosie,it has a loud clunk from the rear as i wont be having more that 330 bhp is it not worth the bother of geting something uprated.What sort of costs would be involved A)normal diff B)something uprated

normal diff will be about Ł200 2nd hand

Or

do it once and do it right, get an uprated Gripper/quaife jobbie for about Ł800

It will cost you about Ł1100 - Ł1200 for the actual diff ready to install in your car, the quaife atb unit is Ł805 inc vat, then you need to have it fitted in your existing diff casing, new bearings, labour, shot peen + polish the cwp etc etc. Well worth it though, get the quaife built now before you waste money on a 2nd hand std diff (which will break, just like the 1st one)

 

you can run 400bhp through the diff mate if ur not an over eager launcher well mine been ok so far.
