Yours is a 4WD sump I guess? I am just fitting a Burton baffle to my 2WD Sapph sump. No need for big winged sump I think but the baffle is important.

Last season my oil pressure warning light came on a few times under braking at the end of the straight at Brands and at the long right hand corner at Snetterton. This is why I'm fitting one.

Mine is the Burton one - I hope it fits OK.

That looks exactley the same or is a copy of the Mountune GRP N baffle (i have the mountune one). IF you look close you will see that one on ebay DOES have 2 gates on it, the one at the top of the picture is open, and there is one directly underneath which is closed.

I'd say yes it is worth getting.

What I meant to say was it is worth getting the Mountune one, the one on ebay is definitely a copy and they have forgot to add something to it which would make it useless if it got stuck...

pretty sure the mountune one is well better than that.

i will sort a pic of mine and you will see the difference.

as for having a big wing sump...the more oil in there the better.

Thats not the GRP N one that Mountune sell, thats a GRP A one, and it would cost more than £188 for the GRP N item, if you could get one from them.

In answer the original question that this thread was about. Yes I would fit one if I was you Jtech. I run one with my 2wd setup on the Westy which probably generates more chance of oil surge and its been fine.

I can get them made for 2WD and 4WD fitments if you want one.

The guy above who had problems fitting. I bet your sump has been thumped on the ground at some point meaning that the baffle would not bolt down properly? The sump will probably look fine but the bottom is probably sitting up a mm or 2.

some people get away with not having it,not having a larger capacity sump etc...but while at the Ring, my engine started to rattle, thats why i now have got the big wing sump and the baffle.

up to you at the end of the day.

not got any with the baffle out.

no problem having the holes in the side imo, it controls the surge butthe main thing is to keep the pick up pipe full of oil, hence the baffle i have and not the one first mentioned.

i learned the hard way and the expensive way.

I bought a 2wd 1 from burton for mine. It was a proper pile of wank!! badly made, rusty and still had loose bits of metal in it and hanging off it. When i phoned up to complain about poor workmanship etc he said "well your not going to see it and it will be covered in oil". Needless to say i sent it straight back and made my own.

That Burtons item is not the best design at all, and is very basic.
