Personally I'm baffled by the huge number of people in the Ford scene (and on here in particular) who don't own a Ford!
I've been a Ford nut since Primary 1, and I don't see my enthusiasm dying off anytime soon either! The evidence is in the growing family of them I have to support

'90 Escort Mk4 Estate 5 door 2.0 16v on throttle bodies (probably the only one of its kind in the world! )
'84 Escort Mk3 LHD, GT28, 300BHP+ Sitech Racing project
'86 Capri 2.0 150BHP - drift car project
(I've also got an Alfa 155 V6, but everyone's allowed a bit on the side aren't they?! )

And my girlfriend's pair:
'88 Mk2 XR2
'89 Escort 1.3 Popular - In her family from new, proper low miles and currently undergoing a huge resto!

Some other Fords that I plan to own too:
Sapphire Cosworth, both 2WD & 4x4
Mk2 Granada - probably V8
Mk4 Cortina - YB converted
Mk2 Orion - 90 spec RST/mini Cossie looks & turbo power
Mk1 Fiesta - Early chrome bumpered model slammed on wide 13s
Mk2 Escort - YB powered Harrier would be the nuts

Im a rwd man

The 4x4 was only a stage 1 but bored me to tears. Mind you i did buy it after taking my Cortina Cosworth off the road. It felt very safe and boring after the Cortina LOL

I've had...
a 1.3 mk2 Escort,
then a 1.6 Cortina,
a 1.6 sierra,
a mk1 Mexico which was stolen ,
then had a big break from Fords for a while but have since had,
1.6 Mondeo,
1.8 diesel mk6 Escort (regret selling it, was ace on fuel!!),
1.4 petrol mk6 Escort (shite on fuel and mega slow!!),
MK4 XR3i cabby (regret selling this as well, was mint!!)
And currently own a 1.6 zetec Escort for getting me to and from work.
2wd Sapph (still own this, never selling it!!),
So had quite a few!!
Plus working for Ford i get cheap bits!!

Currently a Saph Cos 4x4 last 2 yrs and 57 plate Vectra SRi for the daily.

Had an S2 for around a year previous to the Saph.

Few Escorts, Orion n a Fiesta over the years aswell as Beemers, Veedubs, n Vauxhalls. Always loved Saphs, Escos and older Scorts thou and imagine i'll own these type of cars as 2nd cars for years to come, or the wallet runs dry!

Ford wise ive owned,

Scrap fezzy 1.1 pop plus (donated by my mother on passing my test never drove it lol)

Brown orion 1.8D (donated by my driving instuctor, fully intended to get it on the road untill a smackhead stole the id & plates off it outside my unit, it got weighed in )

2 x wrote off series 2's (was going to make a good one out of the pair, lost heart and cashed all the bits in ended up quids in and bought a golf G60 one of the better moves ive made )

Now ive got the escos monte, cant see my parting company with it for a long time....

Scoobies just have no real styling, and their main personality trait is that they sound broken

mine aint slow in a straight line either, its almost as quick as a e36 m3,,, but alot more fun to drive

its more fun than my old cossie too hence i never bought another cossie

the image is a downside ill admit,,,,, but its alot more stable at high speeds than my cossie ever was !!!

In all honesty ginge i've given them every chance to wow me but they dont, last one i was out in was a mate's std( i call it an std cos i'd rather have one then own an sti)
Like i said ginge it DID tick all the right boxes, but honestly left me massively un-impressed.

It just did the job and nothing else.
