Default anyone do washing machine repairs?

as my washer dryer has just died and i could do with some advice on what might be wrong.

its a Firenze 1200 (who makes them by the way? ) and the drum wont go round mechanicaly but will by hand?

Could it be the motor or belt,any other ideas??

If it doesnt smel like anything is burnt then it will be the belt.

Take the back off and you will see it hanging there

cant get in mate have taken the top of as there is no back panel to remove,infact it looks like you have drop it out the bottom

it will be the electronic thats failed it controls all motor speeds
im in that trade and have never heard of that brand

looks like a trip to currys in the sales

if the belt has gone spin the drum by hand fast as you can if it keeps going belt is adrift
if it stops quickly then belt is ok

firenzi is made by another makers and rebranded,must admit it does feel like the belts still on. :-(

If the motor's buzzing it could be the brushes. There's loads on fleabay and they're easy to replace.

nope cant hear the motor at all matey,i do hear solinoids trying to make something work but thats all.

put a pic up if you can i will know if its a major manufacturer

depending on age and use if its the brushes tap the metal parts of motor with hammer then try it again on spin. (dont tap it with power on )

The motors underneath and at the back,I'm gonna settle with a drink now,I'll check out what you said probably boxingday now.

But if you think you can fix it Inc parts an labour for less than Ł300 then I'll let you do it.

sounds like the motor brushes.. try swapping them round if its possible
