how can u tell a series 1 ecu from a series 2?????

By the colours/pictures on the sticker on the case.

Series 1 is blue red blue
blue red white is 86 spec s2
blue red black is 88 spec s2
hearts, diamonds is 90 spec s2

but if the caseings have been swapped over then there's no way of telling????

but some hearts and dimonds ecu were normally one's brought over the parts counter at ford, so some of them could be S1 ECU's
