Smile Spring rates and suspension set-up!!

I have a 1.8 16v mk 6 escort that am using for sprints, am changing my suspension for the new year and am having a few problems, the first problem is what suspension to get? I thought about GAZ fully adjustable coilovers or SPAX RSX fully adjustable coilovers anybody have any advice on this. Also on both these kits there is and option to select sparing rates, this is where i get totally lost?? Am told that the normal spring rate is approx 110-140lbs/inch which is quite and comfy; spongy ride, i thought of getting 180lbs/inch springs for the front and 200lbs for the back. I want to ride to be firm the not so stiff that its going to shake the chassis to pieces of even damage the shocks??? Car will only be used on track so comfort is not to important, handling is key. Any help appreciated thanks Gary McD
