Default Help and advice needed from the VW Gurus please

I have just inheirited my Dads mk 3 VW Golf 1.9 turbo diesel CL, I want to fit mk 3 golf gti brakes to it front n rear

What parts do I need to do the job?

Help and advice much appreciated

i think you may need the hubs as they are part of the calipers

but i could be wrong

Think that the Mk3 GTi are 5 stud mate... rather than the 'normal' Golf 3 using 4-stud.

There not part of the calipers, but the gti's are 5 stud and the diesel's are 4 for a start.

That's right. To fit mark 3 gti or vr6 stuff (the later vr6 disks are bigger) you'll need to change the hubs & wheels. You are better off using mark 2 gti stuff instead.

Grant, they are 5 stud mate, have got the alloys to fit once the brakes are fitted just bought a set of these to on 225/40 18 hope they clear the arches

but which hubs have you got?
normal ones?
gti ones?
vr6 ones?

Dojj, will have the hubs off of a gti mk 3, same as mk 3 vr6 I believe

Get the parts off the donor car above and you will be laughing. One of my mates works at VW and he's done a couple of VR6 looking diesels now
