Sony stero decoding
What sony is it mate? If its just one of the usual 4 buttons on the remote codes then most places that sell them should be able to find your original code.
At the place i used to work i did it for customers a few times. Easy enough and i'd be suprised if they charged you as it'll only take them a few minutes and cost them nothing.

thanks m8 will give that a try 
it's a black faced model NO buttons thou 
so will need a remote thinking of getting it BUT the bloke has lost the code he has all the booklets and stuff but cant find where he wrote the code
