so for the last god knows how many years ive been touring constantly with different bands, so ive been at home about as much as ive been on the loo..
i get a call from my nan, "hi lee, are you going to do anthing with that car you put in my garage??? WHAT CAR NAN?? i think its a big silver one lee.
OHHHHH blimey,
i had totaly forgoten that nearly 5 years ago i bought a merc sec500 off ebay.. its a mint 1986 verson stripped for track with a cage and 2 cobra seats... its all stickerd up and was going to do the scumball i think, but the guy lost interest.
i bought it becuse it was cheap and looked fun, i went and collected it and took it home, then put in in my nans garage. totaly went out of my head and i mean totaly..
i had genuinely forgotten it was there..
WHAT do i do with it people??

well judging buy the fact you forgot you had it, you bought it on a whim and you are never home.
Id suggest putting it back on ebay, or in the forum here as a track car.
Its not a nasty auto is it, i did some welding on one of these earlier in the year, and was a nice car except for the auto box and it was a heavy chasis
As said its not worth that much really, with out the interior etc, but some one will still pay good money i guess for a track toy thats a bit different.

ok, i see that it may be the best option to sling it back on the bay.. BUT, i think it may actually be worth saving, i know the shell is mint really mint that was the main reason i bought it.
maybe i will get it out and put it back to original. mind you i probably willl never have the time.

is worth Ł8-10 max
The normal V8. A mint, fully history example Ł5k on a good day
average condition one Ł2500 ish
So cant see yours making too much money, bearing in mind the work and money you will have to spend to get it back to MINT/ complete spec. and have full history.
Im most examples like this it will be cheaper to go buy a finished car rather than "restore" the one you have as its incomplete. and believe me ive had some incomplete resto cars in my time
of course pics of yours would really help of course!
If you got a bit of spare dosh, track it!!!!!!
If not sell it.

Remove the stickers, slam it, put in proper seats and interior and drive around with your seat at 45 degrees with 50 Cent blaring out the stereo.
On a more serious note, would be a proper cool cruiser.

Im doing the Scally Rally again this year. So will be looking for a cheap motor do it in again. Last year we used a VW passat and themed it as a Bee.
Id love to doit in a big V8. Also my mate who does the rally with me is a Merc technican so will be ideal as he will be able to get us cheap parts for the service.
If you fancy selling it cheap let me know.

Yep apart from it's Snoop Dogg and Xzibit instead
How people can drive like sitting on a deck chair is beyond me though. I've tried it to see what it is like but it amazes me how little control you have over the car when driving like that.
