Zetec 1.3 tuning
My Godson has just turned 17 and inherited his Moms 1997 1.3 Fiesta Zetec.
He came to me (with much respect ) and was asking about what could be done to pep up his newly aquired Fezza.
To quote him "I'm gonna slam it and fit some deep dish alloys, get some decent sounds but what about tuning the motor Don Cameron?"
I tried to convince him to run it std and get some NCB built up but he is gonna mod it regardless of what anyone advises him...SO..What mods are worthwhile doing?
Oh and installing a bigger cc motor isn't an option

did they do a 1.3 zetec? wasn't it 1.25 or 1.4 16v's or 1.1 or 1,3 8v ??
Anyhoo, doubt you will se much what ever you do, so do the placebo effect, slap on a k&n fikter for the snorty sound, a stainless exhaust for the right sound and lower it abit so it hanles well.
Slap on some decent looking rims and maybe stick some Fiesta RST recaro seats onto the MK4 subframes so it is a nice place to sit and the whole car should be feeling nice and sporty.
It ain't going to be fast no matter what I imagine, and gaining decent power would cost more than a 1.6 conversion and paying the insurance difference.

stay away from subs/bass boxes etc as they are heavy as fook and anything you can do to a 1300 to improve power would inturn be pointless if there instaled. trhats my opinion anyway,
nice set of 17" lowered wheels sitting just inside arches, a nice oval tailpipe on a ss back box & a pipercross induction kit will keep the youngen happy,
what colour is it?
hope it helps
