You can get a few on but obviously it varies depending on size of the files you burn on. As an example I have just put Clubland 14 (3 disk) and Clubland Clasix (3 disk) all on one normal 700MB/80min disk.
I burn using Nero

MP3 sizes.. typically 5MB/tune @ 128 kbit quality (tolerable).. so approx 130 tunes on a single CD in mp3 format..
You burn mp3's as a 'data disc', not audio disc.

or if you get a head unit that can read DVD's burn mp3's onto a DVD and you can get 1000+ songs onto one disc
or try a head unit with a USB input, then you can buy a memory stick (8GB) for a tenner

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Ive got a 700mb CD in the car now that has 14 albums on it. If your using nero you can select to burn an MP3 CD. Just plonk the different folders with the songs in onto the disc, then if your head unit reads MP3's it will work fine.

Go to your music file on your computer, right click the folder and choose properties. That will tell you how much space the files are taking up. Then have a look on ebay! I have got a 4gb ipod nano, and that holds approx 700-1000 songs, so a cheapy 1gb mp3 player should be more than enough for you!
