My first car was a 1.6 Base MkV Cortina.

I fitted a Crusader interior, a set of Alley Cat Rallye Special Wheels then a 2.0 then a 5 speed gearbox.

The list just goes on and on and on LOL, was also featured in Fast Ford Mag.

Steve.

A 1970 1302S bug...still own it also! Lowered it, fitted a set of centreline copies, nosey exhaust that looked wank, cam, bugpack inlet with a twin venturi holly, k&n and a pair of fish net recaro's. One day i'll get it brought over from my parents and get it stripped for a rebuild. Been parked up for 12yrs now...put a set of plugs, points and condensor and some fuel in it earlier this year along with a battery...cranked it over it it fired up. Fitted up the trade plates and took it round the block...apart from a slightly sticking n/s/f brake caliper it drove well. Heater channels were still sat on the garage floor though as a neat line of rot

my first car was a vauxhall cavalier diesel, it had an eventfull life, i remember doing the head gasket, then i took it for a swim which bent a couple of rods and killed the engine, put a new engine in it, did the head gasket again. i then wrote the thing off in a crash at about 50 mile an hour. i miss that car

1.3 mk3 fiesta in a very deep purple, with all the extras. Lasted 1 week and half an hour, met a pikey coming the other way down a back lane in the pissing rain, he was in the middle of the road, swerved, hit a bit of grass, spun 3 times, hit one gate post with the front, knocked the gate down, hit the other gate post with the back, and stopped beached on a mound of soil
bent the valance back off the alty belt and drove it home
when i looked properly it had bent the entire roof

next car was a mk3 fiesta courier 1.8d,
spent months welding it back together,
all colour coded,
spots on the front,
smoothed bonnet,
escort gti wheels
elec windows,
central locking,
xr2i seats and stearing wheel,
ford racing sticker across the windscreen
silver dashboard bits
pink carpet in the back
4 6x9's, 2x12" and 1x15" subs,
was a smart van when done, lasted a year then i blew the engine up and scrapped it

damn i miss that van

My first car was a Ford E93A- 6Volt & 3 speed. Used it for a month & bought something better.
Car No.2 to was a Ford 100E had that for 2 years only mod was a White stripe & chrome stars .
Car No 3 was an 850 Mini- The Mrs remembers this one with affection .
During my ownership of this car I went for a trip in a modified Mini, remember being told it was 0-60 in 10secs, it felt so fast I nearly died, my hobby for life was fixed & I had a sub 8sec 0-60 Mini within a few months, seems slow now but in 1965 it was considered crazy my brother still talks about some of the scary things we did in it, I can still remember the 'high' of my first fast car.

First car was an XR2... I think all I did was put an OMP 'race' exhaust system on it.. All I could afford! I could barely keep the thing maintained!

Mk3 Escort Estate 1.3L, bought outside an auction for Ł200 with my first weekend wage packet when I was 17 and still at school.....

Started as a shitter, turned it into a modded minter...... ran it into the ground

Uprated XR3 running gear, huge ICE, two resprays, tons of panels replaced etc etc....

It even appeared in an old Max Power in '97 at one of the big Strathy Cruises

BURNOOT!

my 1st was a W reg rover 45ixs 1.8i,gorgeous car to drive and nearly fully loaded but the running costs for me were too much for me on my income(inbetween jobs at mo) so i swapped it for my fiesta, yes i lost money in the swap however i've gained that back by nearly cutting my insurance bill in half and the massively reduced petrol bills plus fiesta parts are dirt cheap and easier to get hold of if i need to.

i must say i don't regret swapping it as i learned a lesson from it and i will learn more about mechanics on the ford
