Total Respect for them! they are there getting bullets, gernades, and what ever else thrown at them. I have respect not only for them, but also for the British army! I might not agree with the war, but what they are doing out there is crazy. Now, just as there are good dudes and stupid ones. like everything else in life the bad is always remembered.

As said i cant belive the american got into trouble. As at the end of the day its easy to judge when you sat at ome but out there the millitants have been known to cry out injury then when troups get close they blow them selves up. imo sounds like he done what i would have done.

Just gotta ask yourself wtf was a camera crew there anyway?

The Iraqi wasn't exactly defenceless, he'd been shooting at the Americans for the past 10 mins so what they meant to do? Its kill or be killed out there, the fookin journalists would kick up a right fuss if an Iraqi came out and popped one of them off, the troops are in a no win situation.

They're doing an excellent job though, RIP the ones who haven't made it all the way....

yep, agree with you lot

why is a camera crew needed in a warzone? so they can tell the world afterwards what the soldiers did wrong but they never tell that the same soldiers saved the camera crews life now and then

Hey

I have alot of my friends in iraq and some of the soldiers I have trained will be going there soon. I think their soldiers are like our's in some ways.. you can't always have the best in all ways. because alot of the best and brightest people don't stay in the army, so there will always be some... brighter than others, but you have to consider the stress from constant battle.

Got this Through email today,

Falluja Arithmetic Lesson
by Prof. Greg Palast

Monday's New York Times, page 1:

"American commanders said 38 service members had been killed and 275 wounded in
the Falluja assault."

Monday's New York Times, page 11:

"The American military hospital here reported that it had treated 419 American
soldiers since the siege of Falluja began."

Questions for the class:

1. If 275 soldiers were wounded in Falluja and 419 are treated for wounds, how
many were shot on the plane ride to Germany?

2. We're told only 275 soldiers were wounded but 419 treated for wounds; and
we're told that 38 soldiers died. So how many will be buried?

3. How long have these Times reporters been embedded with with military? Bonus
question: When will they get out of bed with the military?

Monday's New York Times, page 1:

"The commanders estimated that 1,200 to 1,600 insurgents had been killed."

Monday's New York Times, page 11:

"Nowhere to be found: the remains of the insurgents that the tanks had been sent
in to destroy. ...The absence of insurgent bodies in Falluja has remained an
enduring mystery."

NOT in the New York Times:

"Every time I hear the news
That old feeling comes back on;
We're waist deep in the Big Muddy
And the Big Fool says to push on."

I reacon that US Marine was bollocked for PR you know. So the media can see the US Forces dont encourage the killing of injured parties, it looks bad and makes for bad press.

In reality, of course he should have shot the guy, your there to do a job, if you dont want to fight then you surrender before the last minute, give yourself up as a POW....not fight till the last minute when your injured and then expect to live.

You go in, get the job done, neutralise the enemy forces, in blunt terms, you go in there to kill them, as they wont hesitate killing you.

I dont see how the guys SNCOs/Officers could have bollocked him as they'd have done the same and know how it works on the ground, was "publicly" bollocked for PR as I said I reacon!

In this day and age when Media is allowed to follow the troops into combat is just ridicules!!(sp?)
Chipper, again with Rich America...STFU you're like a broken record.

How many of these "Combat" soldiers enlisted years ago to get a better education, housing, discipline, or just plain travel? I can say if I was there I probably would have shot him too! minutes ago this same person was trying to kill me, and even wounded he'd probably try to kill
me. It's a stressfull and adreline filled moment! that I'm glad I'm NOT in! Respect to all the US/UK soldiers putting their lives in danger for us.

All those soldiers are only doing what they are told to do, nothing more or less.
They are just following the instructions given by their commanders.

And if i was in such a war situation i should killed them to, cause it's only a matter of me or them.

so, i have respect for all the soldiers out there

I dont agree with the americans or the brits being there, the reason they say they went (for these arms Saddam didnt have) and what they really went for (the oil) infuriates me, no need whatsoever to attack and maim many innocent people of both ours and theirs.

As for the marine shooting the guy, The place was supposed to full of dead un's after abit of a battle between the 2 sides, so there he is surrounded by corpses when 1 moves, Fook me senseless your gonna shoot the fucker, not exactly gonna make him a jam butty n a brew after the coonts tried shooting your ass 10 mins earlier.
If he gets fooked over for this then this war is a serious joke (as if it isnt already), wars are to like kill people n that aint they, not play hop scotch in the battlefield

Yeah well mate, its just my opinion, if I'm not incorrect in saying, I am, at the moment still allowed the freedom of free speach
As i said two of my family members are over in Iraq, and I resent the fact that they have been sent there to steal oil and supress a race of people who have comitted no crimes other than not agreed with George Bush and his administration.

I have 100% respect for the troops in Iraq, and I think this solidier shooting the Iraqi would have been perfectly acceptable if the Iraqi was trying to kill them. But anyone whos seen the footage will hear that the soldier clearly said something of the sort " hey this ones still alive" then a pause, then bang. You ever heard of the geneva convention in the states , obv not if you look at Guantanamo.

If this whole thing has been about oil, why has the price gone UP ?

If you REALLY think that they are better off with Saddam than they are now, I'd suggest reality counseling.

It wasn't just Bush who said that they had WMDs, here's a list (fairly long one too) of members of the previous administration (Clinton and his band of idiots)

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
- President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."
- Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"We urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
- Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin (D-MI), Tom Daschle (D-SD), John Kerry ( D - MA), and others Oct. 9, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

"There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has invigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies."
- Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others, December 5, 2001

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them."
- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force - if necessary - to disarm Saddam Hussein, because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years . We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002

"He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do."
- Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapon stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation .. And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

Yes but the point is these people are all Americans in your "magical list that proves you right" maybe this is because most Americans can't see past there own borders never mind listen to the international communitys views
The truth is taht Iraq weren't developing WMD and I am as disgraced by our priministers lying and decit as I am about your governments.

I didn't say we are right, I said that it wasn't only Bush that said Iraq had WMDs

Personally, I don't care if they found WMDs or not, I think that the Iraqi people will be better off once we get rid of the insurgents and they have an election to CHOOSE their government.

Well in all honesty, this IS a CAR forum!
How about you start using something called a brain, Car aren't only in the UK, and especially Fords, which I may add is an AMERICAN company. Pointing out views is one thing, but when insults and anti-(whatever country) starts popping up on place where people from that country live makes this a hostile enviroment. So before you start pointing fingers, look at your own place first, then go from there.
Oh, and FYI, the US and the UK AREN'T the only countries involved, some just prefer to stay silent.

not really read the post, but as far as the subject goes... fuck em.. i'd have smoked the bitch given half a chance - especially as these people are known to hide anti personnel weapong on and about thier dead or dieing bodies.

as for the war at large.. I'm not sure i approve, but my little bro was out there with the paras and has come back a changed man. as far as I'm concerned (and this will sound harsh...) fuck the whole thing.. i couldn't really care less. Do what you want but IMO just get our boys out of there right now.

Either give up or blow the whole fucking thing off the face of the earth.. enough is enough IMO!

unreasonable rant over.

I'll have to look for it when i'm at home.. something about disliking Americans
because your family was put out of work?? or something like that..
anyway whatever dude, You like us you do, you don't, then you don't.
Me I dislike someone "AFTER" they (not the entire country) has done
something against me. I'm just here for my Passion with RS's.
Meeting people along the way is just a plus! unfortunately there are some
fools who dislike me because I'm a Yank, Oh well sucks to be them

Then we have something in common, I dislike most of the way the government is run!
I've disliked it ever since they almost commited genocide(sp?) against the real Americans..The Native Indians.
I'm not a democrat or republican. I was just choosing against Bush.
You must admit that some of your topics or responses have been either to stir the pot or a little childish.
So there you go, I don't have any problems with you, and you don't have any problems with me.. we just both dislike bush.
