mondeo tdci, thinking of buying 1,pls advice
Hi looking for a good daily smoker, that we can use for work duties, taking the dogs out and prob towing my track car around with also, the track car is only small and light ish "MX5"
fancy a sharan,alhambra,galaxy diesels 2000/2001 or newer
but always liked mondeo estates too,and for say £3 K i could get a newer 1.
heard a lot of horror stories with injectors on tdci's
is this common? heard its about £1200 a set all in if they go down.
any other ideas pls pass them on as i am looking to change asap really.
any advice/tips with these,Thanks in advance.
matt.

I bought a beauty 12 months ago
A 54plate TDCI 130 Ghia x...for £6k ( were £8k plus on the dealers forecourts )
Does nearly 50mpg on a run and all the toys......cant fault it and it drives so much better than a passat/vectra etc

injectors are about 200 quid each. rear subframe bushes on saloons and hatches but not estates. if you get one run it on branded diesel only,no supermarkets or bio. run it on shit fuel and sooner or later the injectors and/or pump will fuck up. the tolerances on modern fuel systems are so tight that even a bit of dust can knacker an injector.
