Default ZVH Timing

my mate has built a zvh and he was told by a guy to put it a tooth forward on the cam pully and it runs like shit (although not sure if its just the timing), I said a bigger displacement should not affect the timing and he should time it as normal.
Am i correct and any one any info on why you would go a tooth forward??
Cheers Stu

bollocks, just time it up as standard, if you want to advance the timing a little then get a vernier pulley, but dont just advance it a tooth, thats way to crude

am I right in saying ZVH's never time up spot on like a std CVH? I.e. it's half a tooth out either advanced or retarded?

^^ Yeah your right mate...the taller block throws it off by half a tooth. Only way to do it properly is to fit a vernia pully.
