I have just been made redundant after 8 years in the job. Working in IT as an Active directory / Exchange specialist.

Never thought the day would come and havent a clue what to do from here on in...

Want a change of career and mapping cars is something I have enjoyed learning for a while now. I paid to do the efi101 courses and then just tried to learn as much about the rest myself with my own Autronic and my brothers Motec....

Does anyone have any idea how I could progress this further???

Choose a market and promote yourself in it I guess.. It'd be useful if you could map someones car which then goes on to prove itself, in competition for example. Then word of mouth opens lots of doors!

imho where there it is enevitable ppl will start to spend less on moding cars, im not sure now is a good time to get into mapping cars.

i would expect even established tunners have seen a downtune in sales/work (based on no evidance just knowledge of currect economic climate) and i think as a new tunner you will struggle atm.

but maybe paying trader fee's and advertising might be a good place to start as its a minimal investment to start with.

i think a lot of people find out about company's from magazine articles, I most certainly do. Think you need to get a good feature for a car you have mapped in FastFord imho
