FRS wheel offsets - more questions!
im hoping this is a quick question to cover.
but im led to believe that Focus RS wheels are a et42, but would a wheel with an offset of et33 sit further in or out!?
offsets is one thing that i can never quite get my head round.
also, what width are focus rs wheels, and would 8x18's with the et33 fit perfectly?
cheers for the help and clarification.

yeah, just chin wagging with Mr Ripley and Richie about wheel dimensions
established they will sit out 9mm further - but will they fit ok tho, will the 9mm be a little to far out with a 225/40 tyre on there still?
any experiences etc!?
Not picked it up as yet, the guy was sorting a few things today and swapping number plates etc, and hes out tomorrow so we are doing the final dealings on sunday.
also found K12 FRS to go with the K12 COS plate - and its only Ł179 plus a few transfer fee's

Ideally you'll want to replace the wheels with the same offset from the FRS (ET42 - although ET40 to 45 will also bolt on with no probs) - that said though there are not many wheel companies who produce wheels in the FRS size, fitment & offset - main options being the 6 spoke MO's tbh
The ET33 offset on the rear would not be a problem as the extra 9mm out will still be covered under the rear arch (some FRS owners have fitted 10mm spacers on the rear to push the wheels further out to fill the arch)
Obviously the extra 9mm will be a big problem on the front as it will stick well out of the arch, also get rubbing, etc - and obviously if its sticking far enough out of the arch police/vosa may not be happy if you got pulled
Good man though for starting to mod it before you've even picked it up - think we've all done that many times over the years

i was unsure if the 9mm would have been that bad, as they do appear to sit quite inwards.
cheers for input mate - mucho appreciated.
i was just clutching at straws for an idea thats all, it may not work then

Personally, I wouldn't bother with ET33, the wider wheel I'd go with on the Focus RS is ET35. It sits perfectly IMO and adds to the FRS's nice wide stance. Hence why I want to swap my 6 spoke MO's for me mates old style 6 spoke MO's

Nah mate, my MO's are ET42, the right offset. But looking at the one's on me mates Saph he wants to sell, I was thinking of swapping for his. They look better being the original MO's. No pic of them on mine though, sorry matey
If I recall, this one in Holland has ET35's, or they were 9" wide. Either way, this is how the MO's sit...

Yeah I just read the thread, didn't realise it was an FRS as you said it was cheap to insure! Bargain motor mate!
I've not spoken to Jase, didn't realise the wheels had been sold either! I did tell you to crack on with them!

i know mate, but being in and out of the hospital with my dad and then the deal popping up with the car made it a bit rush rush to the bank etc aswell.
its my own fault and my loss if theyve gone, but then i can hardly complain when ive got the deal i have on the FRS.
Cochyn, so those wheels, are they 9" and et35?

Kelv alot of people mount the scangauge just to the left of the clocks. Look on RSOC in the FRS section for some ideas.
Dream science is a flash which is uploaded to the ecu via the obd port. Some of the RSOC members are using something similar called Tunafish which despite its silly name is meant to be quite good.
Lastly H&R lowering springs are meant to be quite well priced and work quite well for the money.
Everything is from what iv read on forums, no personal experience myself.

Suspension lowering wise only springs on the market are the H&R ones - they claim to lower the car by 25mm but in reality car is lowered by 15mm
H&R & KW both do coilover kits but are over Ł1k before fitting
GAZ have 2 coilover kits for the FRS which retail around Ł400 to Ł600 but of the few people i've heard who have fitted them they have reported bad fitment, items need adjusting to fit 100%
With the H&R lowering springs if you do fit them, only fit them if the rest of the suspension is in really good condition - if its not then renew the shocks, bushes, etc while fitting the springs - bear in mind that the H&R springs will wear out the standard shocks quite quickly if shocks already a bit worn or have covered high miles
Engine map wise main options are Bluefin & Dreamscience for the plug in units & Collins chip or Unichip for piggyback units that will require live mapping
