Has anybody ever used one of those mobile remapping companies? You ring them, tell them your mods, they come out, plug your car in and off you go...
How do they do it? Do they buy premade maps from somewhere? Or just adjust a standard one a little?
I met one such guy, and was chatting to him when the owner was out on a test drive, asking him similar questions to those I asked in this thread
https://passionford.com/forum/general-car-related-discussion/264057-self-adjusting-maps.html
And he just shrugged and said he didnt know much.....
Also, the map didnt work as planned, it had flat spots all over it, so he just said he'd put it back to standard and left?
I was a bit confused, I thought he'd be out in the car to check it was ok, and I thought he'd be able to adjust things if (like in this case) something wasnt right?
This isnt a dig at mobile remappers at all by the way, I was just a bit surprised with this particular gents apparent lack of knowledge

Depends - generally the norm should be that any mods should be discussed and then taken into account.
some datalogging can also be done.
the maps are bought after the original standard one has been sent to the mapping company itself.
