opinions on the possibilities of this.....
baring in mind were talking about a t3 turbo, does the car ring a bell with anyone.....
I had 528 bhp from a T3 on a Cosworth... T4 just makes it a lot less driveable and a shed load more 'peaky'.
Sorry Pete but that is absolute bollox
A T3 absolutely max'd out will give you circa 360bhp running just under 2 bar of boost, dark green 803's etc etc and will destroy itself very very quickly!
The larger T3/4 as used on the big turbo Escos with the .63 exhaust housing will just about scrape 400hp running light blue 400's or grey 403's and a proper set-up/map.
A T4 is a fairly large turbo which can supply ample amounts of boost but unless the head has had some serious work somewhere just above the 400 bhp figure is about it.
i didnt even think 360 was attainable on a t3. i thought 330 was at the limit for that turbo. definately not 528bhp, not a chance, not ever.
The car in question was originally built by BBR and produced 385 bhp as built by them, I later mangled the bottom end and had the engine rebuilt and upgraded by a friend who normally builds engines for offshore powerboat racing teams. The turbo was untouched during the rebuild but that car pulled 450+ hp on four different sets of rollers, and 528 bhp on the engine dyno of the chap who built it.
Severn Valley Motorsport said the same as you (as did Collins), but four different sets of rollers said otherwise, as did a verified 185 mph at Bruntingthorpe and an 11 sec 1/4 mile time.
It crucified a Collins built '500 bhp' RS500 at Santa Pod, something I suspect a 330 bhp one couldn't do.
