Jap Honda JDM Type R

I own a 99 JDM civic type r with a few mods,
excellent car out of the box, engine would rev to 9k all day long and never caused me any bother at all and the handling out of the box is awesome.
Ive now turbo'd it and it should be making around 400bhp by this time next week,

I'm saying if you buy a frs for 4k more than a Type r when you come on to sell it it'll still be worth 4k more, I never said you'll get the money back from it, you never get any money back from modifying unless you strip it
I was making the point that the " I can buy a civic for cheap and with the difference make it better than an FRS " point is wrong, as when you come to sell the cars the FRS would still be worth more so to compare corrrectly you'd need to spend the same on a FRS and IMO that would be the better car

Hahaha just a small rattle at 3k... which will become 2k... then do it at idle... then the engine wont rattle at all because it'll stop working completely.
Its only lost that much in value because it needs a completely new engine/full rebuild, normally that car would be up around 7k IMO.. and I actually think its worth around 2500-3000 tops at that mileage with a fooked engine.
If you run any car low on oil then it'll do damage, Honda are good at making reliable cars, but they still need maintained and most VTEC engines are known to use a bit of oil when they're given a proper workout.. nothing major.. but it is recommended that you check the levels regularly.
Cheers,
Grant

If you buy an old shitter that has some issues then what do you expect?
I bought a 23 year old Rs1600i a few years back...went through it with a fine tooth comb, sensors, loom, engine, ancilliaries, the lot, it was all tested and approved or replaced till I was happy it was relaible. Thrashed it for 18 months every day come wind rain or snow over nearly 20k miles then sold it for Ł1500 profit.
Thats nothing to do with Ford or Honda's, its just good practice.
#105
How do you explain that all 3 cossies were maintained with no expense spaired and all my old crx's have been thrashed to fuck everyday and never maintained or serviced?
Hondas are more reliable than fords especially if you drive like a cock

Thats similar miles/age to the one with the fubar'd engine in it.. shows the difference in value better.
That silver one you put up looks like great value, probably get that for under 5k if you went up with the wonga and waved it in his face.. plus its got the A/C fitted, ok added weight and saps power, but it also cost around a grand extra as an option!! When I see things like that, I can't think of another car I'd buy for 5k if I wanted a reliable and modern hot hatch that would put a smile on my face when taken out for a blast around the countryside.. and also take me to work day after day.

The 3 door ended up with a cracked block how do you badly maintain the block
my saph melted a piston and was properly set up and mapped by msd

If you cant explain that then leave modded old cars to the pro's.....
There's plenty of reasons all of those could have happend on old performance cars....none of them being " because its a Ford"

Guys, I only posted the Jap version just to show that Honda actually do make brilliant cars and was wondering why the heck they won't sell it to us but only to the Jap market and give the UK a different version. I didn't want this to end up as a Ford vs Honda argument.
I'd have the JDM Mugen RR over the ST, possibly the JDM Civic Type R too. But only those. The CTR we have over here I would never pick over the ST in a million years, only the JDM

Hi Guys,
I was working in near Gloucester today and finished early.
So I went and checked one of these babies out at Litchfield Imports.
Guys I was really impressed, the handling is incredible for a standard setup. It's deceptively quick as well. It also feels far more "rawer" than the UK spec Type R.
I really like this car.
LSD, 4 pot Brembos, Bridgestone semi slicks, gear shift lights, fully functioning aero pack and a great chassis all from stock, I've been thinking about it all afternoon...
