Default Banks, has anyone else had services taken away

evening all, been banking with hsbc for 20 year now and today, i've tried to se my credit card, with no money outstanding i might add, it was declined, so i rang them. They told me that because i wasnt using it they chose to take it away, i have a pretty large sum of money in savings too.
Has anyone else been treated this way?
i cant believe the way banks are treating people

better make sure they haven't taken all your money away. Go and try and withdraw it all tomorrow, just to make sure.

I've heard things like this from other people. Just close your account and move somewhere else if your not happy with them. I'm off to check mine now

Im with Lloyds and its always been the same that if a card isnt used for a long period it de-activates. Its obviously there for security.

Obviously this only works if the amount on the card is £0.

Have they reactivated it???

I had a problem with HBOS recently as they tried to downgrade my current account as i havent been putting £1000 a month in it since being unemployed!! They wanted to downgrade it to a crap cardcash and take away the visa debit and make it the poor mans visa electron. Luckily their systems dont talk to each other as i just upgraded it to thier ultimate account so ive got another few months to find work before i loose that too!!

I had this years back, llyods decided to close my account and asked me to clear out what was in it lol!!!

I had 20.50 so withdrew the 20 and went to the counter and asked for the 50p.

Was asked cash or cheque (in a sarcastic manner), so said Cheque please!!

Casher looked gobsmacked and even asked again, then issues me a cheque for 50p lol, i still have it.

Shortly after they merged with TSB, and heard they had done it to a few people so perhaps were looking to get shot of dead wood??

My adivce would be to go in ans speak to the manager, and say your not happy, so fix it or loose you.
