ROFL! - This is Dennis's TV.

He has Sky HD on it, and he doesn't even have a Dish, or anything for that matter. We are all living in the past.

The last 'expert' they had operating the hub dyno at TDI was telling me how "If I was building a big power <insert_car_here> it'd be running 12:1 compression ratio and loads of boost!".. this was apparently some ex-prodrive calibrator who had gone 'freelance' (read: unemployable )... I forget his name now.

so your saying you have around about a 28% transmission loss?? Seems abit strange that people who have been bui;ding monster yb engines for years and years quote a t38 to be a 450bhp turbo and we have you saying around 550 bhp..

Please give me some of what your smoking so i can talk crap as good as you.

Once again you have understimated Dennis the Mennis. He creates his own exhaust using drain pipe.

imo a rough loss through 4x4 transmission is between 60-80 bhp going by what both my cars have lost in the past. and others i have seen.

good to hear TABZ hope its all going well for you.

im glad i started this thread as it just shows you the utter shite that they are spouting over there.

I mean for all its power in the old form theres a video doing the rounds of the car being beat at santa pod by a fiesta turbo!

And it cant be that bad for business because people are still going there. No one i know though And god knows why anyone would.

Theres a civic type R round here with TDI stickers all over it, I dont know whats been done but whatever it is it aint quick, And it would have cost him a lot of money.

Probably turbo conversion with 800HP !!!!!

In honesty I dont know how they are still running successfully, after seeing the head work ( porting etc ) carried out on that engine build, I would never use TDI or more to the point have any trust in Dennis's workmanship.

It's surging on a T38 ?? On 1.8 bar !!

Rich's GT30 doesn't surge on a standard head, so whatcha done to it ?? Welded the ports up OR fit 1" boost pipes & an rs turbo intercooler ??

i was thinking that, i.e much improved head i.e by 28% or whatever he quoted, and there getting surge at 5k, when engine is probably at its best VE, very odd. especially with a tiny T38.

if its surgeing it aint a standard t38 as my t4 doesnt surge at 5000 rpm at 2.2 bar on an almost standard head. its gotta be a higher flowing t38 somehow or a complete fuck up of an engine aint it ?

i presume the t38, still only uses a t34 compressor housing, so i would imagine the very biggest comp wheel you would get in there would be a t4 at a push, if that.

so hardly surge material, especially at 5k, and 4k perhaps, but 5k
