Just pre-booked Metallica tickets for next Feb. They are paid for and guaranteed, standing

They were great at Leeds Festival this year and I'm looking forward to seeing them again. Wasn't a fan of St Anger but a lover of the vintage stuff.

Anyone else going?? They go on general sale tomorrow.... what's left of them!

Mondeo Man, I looked at Manc earlier on the pre-booking and standing was available. Ten mins later it was not offered. Possible the pre sale allocation of Brum standing had sold when you looked?

 

TBH i'm not fussed about standing..I have a bad back and bad knees and i'm too old to be moshing with pints of piss flying everywhere

Seriously dude, I've been watching bands for ten years and honestly don't remember it in the early days..... there also seems to have been a near total death to crowd surfing also. You hardly ever see it now!

Tis a shame. I will never get used to the feeling of body temperature liquid landing on my face, however!

One guy at a gig did actually take his cock out and piss on the floor right in front of him. Well, mostly ont he floor, some of it on the guy in front LOL. My mate shone a phone light on him and the back of his legs were soaked. I'd have slotted the coont!

 

Likewise pal - been going to gigs since I was 13, so thats 13/14years now! And been hit by piss at most em them! Specially the festivals and the like!

As for crowdsurfing - it's banned virtually everywhere. Which sucks!

Just bought me one for the London O2 show! Mon 2nd March - would have preferred Sat 28th, but got better (I hope) seats for the Monday show.....

Can't even get lower tier for O2, yet alone standing. Maybe I should try for the first one, not the 28th.

 

IMHO you can't go to a show like Metallica and not stand.

You haven't lived until you've been present for a live rendition of Master of Puppets!

Standing sold out on both, lower tier seating is available for the March 2nd gig, which is what I had to go for, as I wasn't paying Ł50+ to sit up the fucking top on the 4th level!!!!!

 

Until you hear that in Astoria 2 with only a couple of hundred people you haven't lived.

 

Cool, then I have lived several times, as I remember Master of Puppets (plus loads of others such as Battery, Blackened, Through The Never, For Whom the Bell Tolls - I could list every song lol) as a youngster pressed up against the barriers against the stage, banging my head like a jackhammer.....

Too old for that shit now, so don't give a toss if it's seated or standing, so long as I get to see and hear the band I paid Ł50+ for

 

That was a SICK gig! I take it you mean the "secret" (which wasn't so secret ) warm up gig for 1995's Donington Monsters of Rock show they held in the Astoria 2? I was there, fucking INSANE!

 

Awesome. My brother in law managed to get some tickets for one of their recent concerts for a fiver! Kosher tickets, it was a promotion from their last album or something, he didn't fully explain. I'd love to go and see them, they're really back on form these days.

 

Fan club only concert/launch party for Death Magnetic, O2 Arena London, 2nd Sept. REALLY REALLY wanted to go to this show!!!!! Specially for a fiver! but am not a Metclub member!!!!!!

 

Going to get my tickets for Birmingham in the morning.

I'm not fussed whether I sit or stand now tbh. I've seen Metallica live twice standing, and the first time I was right at the very front at Download 2004, it was insane. Had to get out about a 3rd of the way through as I was barely conscious, lol. Then after a 10 minute breather I made my way back forwards again

 

I got really lucky when I last went to see them (2003, Earls Court, St Anger tour). I only found out they were playing about 3 weeks before the gig, so I rang up to get a ticket, and was told all they had left were "restricted view" seated tickets! I got one anyway, got there to find I was in the block next to the stage, second tier! So I was well chuffed as I was only 40-50ft from the stage and could see them perfectly!

Hope I get this lucky this time
