Default Clutch issues...

My understanding of hydraulic clutches is somewhat limited, so i'm looking for some advice in reference to an issue with mine.

the car is a Focus RS but i imagine its the same set up as many other fords etc.

When i give it some serious beans in 1st then second, as i come to a stop the car wont go into gear! it is impossible to get into 1st, and only goes into second with some brute force. The pedal goes really light, and the bite is right at the bottom. it will stay like this for the entire journey, but usually after leaving the car for a few hours, everything goes back to normal?

what could this be, it happend on my journey into work this morning, and i'mm gonna look at it at lunch time, but i'd like to know what to check

please help

been doing some investigation on google, and it seems leaky clutch master cylinders are quite common on the focus.

gonna check the clutch fluid level in a bit (lunch break) and see if thats dropped. i cant imagine the fluid has boiled, as i only nailed it for 5-10 secs maybe??

It's pretty dangerous on Focus as they share same fluid reservoir with brakes.

yeah, but the fluid reservoir is seperated to prevent that being an issue

had a look at lunch and no leaks to be seen, can only assume it needs bleeding

booked in @scc tomorrow, even if it does fix itself (as it has done before)

The correct way to bleed these is to reverse bleed them, i.e. Pump fluid in through the bleed nipple. Has it had a fluid change before?
