VGT Turbos..... From a diesel
Right guys, I happen to have in my shed 2 BV50 Borg Warner VGT turbo's originally used on Land Rover TDV6 2.7 engines(only one per engine not twin turbo), which in standard form produce 190bhp at 4000rpm.
I can not ANYWHERE find the compressor maps for these turbo's but what do you think they would be like on a smaller capacity petrol, like a Honda for example?
I have been thinking that with a bit of work a unit could be made to control the variable vanes as they have electronic actuator on them, just based on boost pressure with a delay so that the vane sweep is smooth rather than on/off but not getting too advanced just reall for full throttle. Would be great having low lag and high top end flow, I know from experience that they work VERY well on 997 Turbos
So lets hear your ideas.
