Id say your odds of not getting a ban are little different than your odds of getting sucked off by the queen.

If it does get classed as dangerous driving, you are looking at a minimum of a 1 year ban, personally though I think it would be harsh to consider that as dangerous, but you never know.

Dean from MAD got only 6 months ban, and that was for 168 IIRC, but there is NO parity of sentance with motoring offences, they just make it up as they go along IMHO

I know someone from a vauxhall forum I use who got well and truely stitched up IMHO over an accident he had where someone died and it really wasnt dangerous driving, but he got done by death by dangerous anyway. That was in scotland too, things seem pretty harsh up there.

So true, no parity of sentance at all, makes a mockery of the whole system how different the penalties can be for similar offences.

Its all bollocks anyway, 120mph up an empty motorway isnt dangerous at all, hence people in germany do it constantly without any issues.

A lad I know got banged up for 6 weeks for 156 on the M62 on his R1 near selby don't now if he also got banned, 1 year previous to that I got caught on the same stretch at 103 in astra van and got fixed pen Ł60 and 3 points. I also now someone got caght at137 in his saff went to court and got 6 points and Ł500, pleaded the work excuse for needing his licence.
I think it all depends on the mood that day and how many other peeps have already been raped and pillaged that day.

The sentancing seems so random! Wonder if anyone gets anywhere if they appeal their sentance?

120mph is enough for a ban. The only thing I can say is that you're a muppet and if you get a ban, it is well deserved.

What does this do to peoples insurance?? and before you say "it went up", i know that much but theres some drivers here with group 20 highly modified cars whove had bans so did it double premium?? triple premium??

My premium doubled for 6 points (2 sp30's) and a change of address.

And also does the faster the car, the greater % increase in premium or is the premium % increase the same for same offences???

Got caught at an average of 125 mph in Scotland in Aug 2007, had a clean licence for 10 years, pleaded guilty and explained how my licence was an important part of my job - did not attend court.

Banned in March this year for 32 days and Ł425 fine with no points, I thought I got off lightly.

So it's you now who was speeding? I thought it was your mate

Wow, the police have it easy nowadays, people admitting guilt on the internet! I might become a detective and just surf Passionford all day, I'd soon get promoted and earn lots of money!

mine goes up 15% for every 3 points and another 25% if i cross the 12 point threshold and get a ban. it doesnt drop by the same when the points come off though.

its strange to think the speeds we travel at compared to the punishment we can get

ive got a mate who in the last week has done alot of motorway miles, he was doing most of it at 130 to 150,,,,,, considering other crimes you can do for the same sort of punishment,,,,, or LESS that are worse crimes also is fucked up

people just drive at these speeds,,,,,, waiting to get caught and hand over there cash and the time saved is pointless due to the extra fuel stops and the extra fuel needed too

When i got caught speeding in my transit van last year i was told i was averaging well over 90mph over a 1 mile stretch.Due to the weight of my van i can only do 60mph on a duel carriageway and 27mph over the limit constitutes an instant ban.The copper said he was doing me a favour and just did me for 86mph but he could have had me banned. Then got caught 4 months later at 99mph got 5 points and a Ł230 pound fine.So basically 27mph over any limit can mean a ban

Ade you plonker!! As one of your 'employers' i can write you a letter if it helps reduce the ban.

In my experience (after being stitched by the police) NEVER to say anything to them unless it's through a brief. EVERY word you say can, and will be turned on you. Even apologising infers that you knew it was very wrong and goes against you.

Fingers crossed for a short ban and fine mate.

I was late for a job interview and got caught doing an average of 113mph on the A90 up to Aberdeen around 12pm in the middle of the day by a marked traffic car. Guys were very sound, but explained that it was TOO fast to issue me a standard SP30.

Went to court convinced I was looking at a 500quid+ fine and a years ban.... came out with a 3 month ban (using an SP30 code) and a 400quid fine. That was in Forfar Court, so it might be different for you being slightly faster in a different court with a different judge.

.......and I never got the sodding job because I needed a licence for it. Bastard.

Cheers,
Grant

ahh ok so my premiums are probably about 30% up on a clean license!

I thought when you get a totting up ban the points are removed and you start again on 0 points????

Dont you love the way they dont reduce the premium when the points come off

i was doing 136 on a Dual with a 70Mph speed limit, He followed me Untill there was a Layby and at that point Grab'ed Me chucked me into the back of his T5 that struggled to catch me and not relising he was behind and said. We know full well you didnt see me but we also noticed a change of speed back to the normal 70 mph and wasnt driving like a boy racer. so i got a massive Shouting at and told to grow up as im being a little twat as he said and got me on the way

No ticket or fine or points just a big ass telling off. now i dont be a prick and keep my speed down

the points stay on your licence for 4 years for speeding but only count in totting up for 3. if you reached 12 points and got a ban the points stop counting in totting up but will stay on your licence until they are wiped off after 4 years from date of conviction. if you get caught again youll have 15 points on your licence but only 3 will count for the next ban.thats how i found it many years ago . i dont know if its still like that now.
i got banned for 4 years for speeding so when i got my licence back it came back clean.

say he hit a member of ur family travellin on that road, what would u say he deserved for that, fine and points, didny think so

if i got caught doin that speed id deserve all thats cumin to me,simply because the speed limit if 70mph

also if this was a post sayin someone just killed a member of someones family thru speeding u would be wantin him castrated
