Was that Ł600 from scratch to getting a full hgv entitlement? I thought it was much more than that. Who did you do it with mate. Was thinking about doing it myself actually.
Gus thats not a bad price. I was quoted Ł1500 cash all in, this includes class 1&2 plus theory etc, but if you fail you would have to pay for test again.
I use to drive a hgv for a builders merchant and obtained a hiab licence along the way, really enjoyed driving them and wouldnt mind going for the artic.
what kind of money can you earn with that licence and is a tanker driver licenced any differently? Nice one RS GUS
Depends on what kind of tanker, foostuff's gen on a normal licence, Fuel, chemicals you need an ADR, there are different classes of ADR as to what you can carry and i think it only lasts for 4 or 5 years.
Class 1 bendy wagon type big bastard like Gus can now drive, you can earn Ł30k+ if your with the right firm, Eddie Stobart will pay you Ł7.40 an hour for days.
Some fuel tanker guys are pulling Ł40k with overtime and all the bonuses, but them jobs are dead mans shoes.
i work for a big firm on tipper artics,cracking job but you gotta be prepared i think,i dont know many artic jobs that let you get back home every nite,im out 3-4nites a week and it gets stressful,but congrats to u mate,my advice would be go for a big firm cos the little lads are struggling at the min
