is there a way of knowing if the oil pump is gone
i know for a van that i want, the guy is saying the oil pump is gone but he is no mechanic, but he said a rac guy said that it is.
is there any visable way of seeing if it gone or testing?
i mess with cars all the time and i cant think of anyways to see if it's gone
please help

Does it run? Generally it'll be tapping like fook cos the head will be running dry. Take the rocker cover off, fire it up. You'll know if it's pumping oil within about 1 second when it comes gushing up through the oilways.

he has said the top end has started to make a noise, but he doesn't know what type of noise it is

he said the oil light stays on when your driving, will this happen when the pump is not working or if your low on oil or both?
