Default 21 hours, 704 miles, 27 gallons of petrol and a new project !

Well what a day for me

The plans for this weekend began a few weeks ago on an unrelated issue, more off that later

Day began when the alarm went off at 0230 . Got up dressed etc and went outside in the fog to try and find the Vectra and trailer.

Left my house at 0300 for the 180 mile drive to meet Luke at Newbury Services.

Picked Luke up @ about 0600 and headed off for the 160 mile drive to Snetterton to watch Time Attack. We had planned to meet Kelv and Mrs Kelv at South Mimms Services but after a phone call from Kelv it was a race around the M25 to get to the M11, with us going clockwise and him going anti clockwise via the Dartford Tunnel However with the trailer our power/weight was alot lower than his Diesel Astra van (Note: 2 Vauxhalls and no Fords yet ).

Got to Snetterton about 0830 and met up with Kelv and Mrs Kelv, Neil aka Bullett Nath, Mike R and a couple of new faces, Churchy (you didn't sign my mag ) and Charlie

Went in and parked the Vauxhalls on the PassionFord stand

A foggy start to the day ment the track was shut till around 1030 ish so after a quick look round the pits we went for a full english fry up.

Few pics from the pits I'll put the rest in the relevent room

Warrens Escos

RCM Scooby

Few others

Had a wonder about, watched some track action and had a good chat to Dave(Twins) about carbon for the Ka

Left early at 1400 to go collect my new project from near Peterborough. As you know Dave aka CliffS1 decided to break his minty mint Series 1 and his fule cell was ideal for the my Ka project. One phone call later and i'd struck a deal and bought the fuel cell, complete trimmed shell and the roll cage

So big thanks to Dave and also to Gary(Gadget) for stripping the car whilst Dave is working away

We loaded the car up on the dollies (from Paul Ripley/Franco/DaveEscos) and left for the run home.

Stopped for petrol and to check car/straps over.

Only find bolts holding the dollies together were loose Withno tools with us we asked a young lad in a 16v Clio who was checking his tyres after being at Santa Pod (he did a 13.7 @100mph) if he had a socket we could borrow. He did and we tightened the bolts up, returned the tools and began filling the Vectra with petrol only to look round and see the Clio in a cloud of smoke. Fcuk its on fire ( on the garage forecourt) we thought

Ran over to find he'd dropped his jack on his handheld extinguisher and it had split the casing and gone off inside the car

Lad and his missus were both fine so we left on our way.

About an hour later we are driving through Northampton when some young lads pull up alongside and start pointing. Cool they like the car , but no when Luke looks round the tailgate is open on the escort . Hazzards on and screech to a halt at side of dual carriage way to shut it.

Rest of journey home was uneventful, dropped Luke off at Newbury and finally got home about 2330. Nextdoor neighbour and my friend Jason helped get the car in the garage and i got to bed about 0030.

So a mental day all round. Big thanks to Luke for being my wing man all day Your a star

FPMSL - Had such a funny day mate lets do it again!
Il find a shell you find a race event thats on

What can I say I felt like such a prick laughing my head off at the poor lad.(no i didnt)

I noticed the smoke(powder we then found out) and thought JESUS its on Fire.
Even the bird from the Petrol Station come running out with a extinguisher!

The best bit was the STARS IN YOUR EYES moment when he appeared with a look of horror out the boot of the Clio, coughing and spluttering and rather ghost like.
His poor girlfriend covered in white powder and her hanbag and coat covered in what looked like a air strike from a ton of talcum powder -
ALL YOUR FAULT RITCHIE

As guilty as we felt - OH boy did we laugh

As for the boot incident - That lad was giving the eyes and his missus too ( i thought my luck was in) then on second glance in the side mirror the dam bootlid was up..

So Ritchie as said above pulls over - In the slow lane i might add!!! For me to run out and shut it short straw or what!!

WICKED WICKED DAY anytime mate.
