F28 6 speed is just about the only option sadly, the later boxes with work woudl fit but nobody actually knows if they would be any better, the only guarantee is that they shouldof done a lot less work

andy assures me he has witnesses to the fact and a couple of 10.8 runs on the same road legal DOT drag tyres he ran at totb last yr, he wouldnt make it up anyway (i know him very well) and hes only interested in being the first car into the 9s fwd in the uk, nothing else. he isnt trying to knock the vaux boys efforts either, he knows how good they are.
he was the first into the 10s as far as we know a fair while back. people dont always hear about his runs as he doesnt use the net to boast about any times personally.
whether people on the forum believe it or not he isnt a liar about the times he has run, never has been. i will ask if he has slips for those runs, he probably has but there is no proof of what tyres he was running within that slip anyway, so the non believers will just have to claim/think what they like.
big respect to anyone even in the 11s in a fwd car anyway, low 11s are superb, it took andy an age to break into the 10s (hes been at it 9years)

Andys car is certainly king of the hill IMO.
The vaux lads are doing well, and next year should be very exciting. Most amazing thing about Speckys car is his consistancy.

i expect he never runs any better than 1.9 60ft's when he is on treads maybe 1.8, but he will be running atleast 1.6 to run his 10.2. it will be obvious what tyres he was on.
the slip will tell alot

either way he used to run 11 dead and 11.1s 2 years ago on his old spec turbo, as he was trying for ages to get into the 10s on road tyres. once he had done so he swapped to slicks and more gas aiming to break out of the 10s. the drop from high tens to very low tens happened this year. anyway i'll ask him if he's kept any slips, he may well have done. he has promised to retire from fwd cars if and when he runs a 9, same as he told me when he was in the 12s, 11s, 10s lol

also to add slicks are worth .6s or so he reckons, so given his 10.23s was with slicks i dont think its difficult for him to break 11s on road legal tyres, i'd also expect the tigra to continue down into the high tens as it develops. andys had the same car for ages dont forget, and before it the same type engine in the MG maestro which was running
11s about 3 or 4 years ago.

Sounds like the vaux lads still havent got it all their way yet then, lets hope Andy can get his old form back and give them some real competition at TOTB this year
