He's NEVER turned the nitrous on for a quarter, including at TOTB.

His terminals at TOTB were the same, his times were slightly slower though, he just got off the line better today thats all (pod is a better surface to be fair)

Chris, I wasnt aware andy nichols had done a 10.8 on road legal drag tyres (only time Id heard that said before was on a day when he ran on both road legals and slicks and it was slicks he did that time on as I spoke to someone who saw the run), but fair play then if he went back another time and managed it on road legals too, that certainly puts him as the fastest then if thats the case.
Wonder why he only did it once though and cant get anywhere near ever again?
Not meaning to argue but are you *sure* it was on road legals for that actual run?

Judging on Speckys trap speed I'd say he could match that with some tweeks and same tyres, 2nd gear launch too from the Rover I think.

That was the problem with our friends VR6 turbo Golf on Saturday, r/r circa 500bhp (with switchable 4x4) but couldn't get the power through the transmission and started leaking lots fluid after run number 3 ('only' got 12.6 1st run)

Irrelevant as this thread is about the fastest road legal fwd VAUXHALL, very well done

Certainly going well for a FWD 500bhp turbo car on street tyres .
Not 100% sure about the nitrous system that's fitted and working on the Tigra but that NEVER gets used though . Most of my mates have those sort of nitrous systems fitted as well , all of a sudden they start going faster (even though their gas is off ) . Just a shame they're always re-filling them at Realsteel then !!!!!!!!

he did take a gas bottle and was going to try it, but one of the main reason they all went to pod was so the tigra and corsa could race, the corsa had a problem with one of its bottles so he took it out to give it to them so they could have there race!!!!

so he is mighty impressive if his nitrous kit was giving him power without a nitrous bottle

as far as i know hes run high tens on road legal drag tyres a few times now at pod, and went down into the 10.4s on full slicks last time but grenaded the inlet manifold (BIG backfire on nitrous leak at the line) so it hasnt run since. i'll give him a bell, and confirm exactly what he has run, as i also believe he poss broke 150+mph terminals at pod. anyway will clarify, certainly all done with laughing gas enabled and 3 bar boost as far as i know.

car wont hold a gearbox together now chip, thats why hes had probs all year. been trying out new boxes/setups and its not worked well. also grenaded the engine with a nitrous leak, blew the manifold clean off the car :-(

to add, he is confident there is a 9s in the car if he can get a gearbox that will work with all the power it has. as far as i know it put down well over 600+ at the hubs @ AET
which is whats causing all his box problems lol

andy nicholls has confirmed he ran a best of 10.8s on road legal dot marked tyres at Pod with terminals from 136-138mph (a fair while back), and has since gone down to 10.23s on slicks.

he ran a 10.5s @ 140ish last weekend at pod while some of the vaux boys were there i understand?

as far as we know 10.23s is the fastest fwd car in the uk (slicks) and hes hoping to get into the 9s asap

Agreed, i'm amazed at that too, but im sure Andy has achieved enough for real that he doesnt need to make anything up to try and impress anyone, so if he said he did it, then im sure he did

Would love to see the timing slip though to see what his 60ft was etc, any chance you can get a scan of it Chris? (cant imagine him throwing away the most impressive run he's ever done!)

He needs to look at how his engine delivers power off the line, I think racelogic or similar would see big gains, the resolution of a throttle plate, simply isnt enough to give him a chance of driving it properly with that sort of agression as it comes on boost.

i do remember a time when andy run a 10 in a road legal class but i was told when he went to claim his prize it was pointed out that slicks aren't classed as road legal. I know a few people who have seen him attempt to bend the rules so until a slip is shown i don't believe its done a 10 on treads

chip will have to wait till next year now and al give it a shot of a ten somat but will have to take a video cam with us and do a vid of the car inside and out to show that there is no noz on my car when i do my runs.

i dont like the idea of running noz as have not had any good experiences with it so dont chose to use it. maybe one day i will but not yet.
