Seen a cat c car for sale, it's only something cheap but its cheap cos it needs a vic check? i've heard about this but have no idea what it's all about? what it costs whats involved etc?
It is literally to check the car is the car it's supposed to be and it's not another one that's been ringed. It is in no way a condition check, just an id check.
hmmmmm so it could be cheap cos it's a ringer then..........
Well it does happen, but I think all Cat C cars have to go through a check before they can go back on the road. Because Cat C signifies heavier damage than say a Cat D stolen recovered then they just need to check it is what it appears to be because there would be more work/cost to put them back on the road, and of course it's a cheap way of buying a car and then ringing another and making it look legit because you'll have all the ID off the Cat C car.
i know its slightly off subject but the last 2 times iv removed my private plate from vehicles they have sent someone to come and check the vehicle, any idea why?

That happened to me on my first Escort Cossie as well. Again it's just an ID check and they just select at random, they didn't do it on my last car.
