Default NMS Gunship conversion

How much does Karl charge for the Gunship conversion?

Does he offer it as a DIY "kit" ?
(I guess it's only the chip and possibly uprated wastegate actuator that's needed)

Since it's been around for some time now and I guess a few on this site has experience with the Gunship conversion.

How is the turbo coping with the high boost?
Has there been other issues?

Excellent.

Is the price a secret as it's not stated on the NMS website???

Only supplied fitted or as a DIY job as well?

Cost for DIY is £150+vat with comprehensive instructions on how to setup and requirements etc. That is chip only and you will require a -31 actuator if you have'nt got one allready.

Thanks for the info.

Definitely sounds like a good and proven conversion from what I've read about it in other posts on PF.

Tken from Karls website

Stage 1+ (Gunship Conversion) This is a recent development of the stage 1 conversion and takes the std engine to an even higher state of performance. This conversion however can only be performed on original engines in excellent health or those which have undergone a complete rebuild. Likewise the turbo must be in excellent condition and preferably be fitted with a 360degree thrust bearing. Again a new "chip" is fitted to the ECU along with a Garret -31 actuator, and suitable plugs fitted and gapped if required. For 2wd cars I advise the fitment of a 4X4 Sapphire Intercooler. Coupled with a full setup and alterations to the mapping as required to suit your car, this allows the car to run in excess of 22psi between 2500rpm and 5000rpm, then dropping to 17psi by 6000rpm and finally tailing to 14psi at the 7000rpm limiter. This setup normally results in around 295bhp/320lbf ft.

I think you'll find that Karl prefers to "live map" it to make it even more perfect. Karl did a friends 4 x 4, and it was "live mapped" in addition to the ecu etc. Brilliant Set Up Though.

Its worth noting that your engine has to be GOOD and not some tired worn out unit!

If your engine is knackered, you will do more harm than good by chipping it!

But I'm sure every one knows this

P.S. I wouldnt take my car anywhere else!

My engine was completely rebuilt with new bearings, cyl. rings etc approximately 10.000km ago.

Should be up for it I guess. Should have new bearings etc. for the turbo though.
